City of Everett Human Needs Grant <br /> January 1 through December 31, 2018 <br /> Bridgeways <br /> Emerald Apartments and Bridgeways Place Apartment Permanent Housing <br /> EXHIBIT A: Program Summary <br /> The essential service being provided is access to stable, safe, and affordable permanent <br /> housing for low-income adults living with a disability related to mental illness. <br /> While units at Bridgeways Place and Emerald Place are not reserved exclusively for individuals <br /> experiencing homelessness, most tenants previous living situation was the streets, in a vehicle, <br /> a shelter, or they were at imminent risk of becoming homeless after leaving a treatment facility. <br /> Each individual currently living at our two properties was homeless immediately prior to <br /> accessing Bridgeways housing. <br /> Our tenants are often unemployed or unable to work due to their disability, living in poverty, <br /> struggling to maintain positive relationships, and lacking family or community supports to fall <br /> back on. Symptoms of a mental illness may impair daily functioning, leading to struggles <br /> maintaining stability and accessing basic needs. <br />
