Rockeries will be
constructed along the margins of the wet pond excavations. The maximum rockery height will
be 8 feet. Based on our review, the proposed rockery construction is acceptable from a
geotechnical standpoint. Cut rockeries can be utilized where pavement areas will not be
located immediately adjacent to the top of wall. Plate 1 (attached) provides recommendations
for construction of cut rockeries. Along the east side of the Emergent Cell Wet Pond, traffic
surcharge will be imparted to the top of rockery. In this case, the rockery should incorporate
geogrid reinforcement to accommodate the vehicle surcharge. Plate 2 (attached) depicts the
requirements for a geogrid reinforced rockery. The geotechnical engineer should observe and
document the rockery construction, and provide supplement recommendations, if needed.
We trust this letter meets your current needs. If you have any questions, or if additional
information is required, please call,
Sincerely, 4.
