ENGINEERING
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT
June 21, 2017
Jeff Vander Pol
j effvp©a b bottco n stru cti o n.co m
Abbott Construction, Inc.
3408 1st Ave South, STE 101
Seattle, WA 98134
RE: Owner: Community Health Center of Snohomish County
Job Address: 8609 Evergreen Way
Plan Check Number: B1706-031
Dear Mr. Vander Pol,
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and you
are advised that revisions may be necessary before a permit can be issued. Please review and
respond to the comments below. These comments address building issues only. Additional
revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Public Works, Planning, or
Fire). All references refer to the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), as amended by the State
of Washington and adopted by the City of Everett. The current IBC referenced standard for
accessible design is the 2009 "Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities" (ICC/ANSI A117.1).
Federal ADA regulations and standards may be more restrictive. All required submittals must be of
sufficient detail and information to ensure that the proposed structure will be constructed in
compliance with all adopted codes.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of construction documents
reflecting the corrections requested. All revisions require the person delivering the
drawings to replace the revisions into the two sets here at our offices. For significant
revisions, or if the revisions are coming directly from a document printing facility,
please make arrangements with them to print and deliver two replacement sets.
Structural
1. It appears that the special concentrically braced frame system being provided is being
designed per the IBC 2015. Please show how the redundancy factor, p, is satisfied per
ASCE 12.3.4.2. to equal 1.0.
2. On Sheet S2.1, it appears that new the addition of micropiles are being installed adjacent
to existing footings for the new steel braced frame columns. Please provide details and
supporting calculations that address:
a. where the new micropiles are occurring in elevations. Please address if the top of
these thickened footings are above the existing footing or are intending to match
the existing top of footing elevations.
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8810 • Fax (425) 257-885
