Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2012 2:15 PM
To: Kevin Fagerstrom
Cc: Tony Lee; Teresa Firnstahl; Jeff Heilman; Steve Ingalsbe
Subject: 201 E. Beech St.
Kevin,
I would like to request your assistance with a case that has festered for some time. Here is the story.
On June 3rd 2011 we received a complaint about construction activity at 201 East Beech St. A site visit was performed on
June 6th 2011 to determine the status of the concern. Jeff Heilman observed reroofing, a porch roof addition, and the
enclosure of the underside of a large existing deck that was being converted for usable space. This work was being
performed without permits. Jeff requested that the owner obtain the required permits and approvals.
I revisited the site on June 13 2011 and posted a stop work order on the building due to the failure of the owner to
respond to the initial request from Mr. Heilman.
On June 16th 2011 our office received a hand written letter from the owner(a Mr.Somal) requesting a little time to
address the requirements due to a family emergency.
The owner indicates in his letter that he was planning on submitting plans and application within approximately one
week from the correspondence.
I revisited the file yesterday and discovered that the owner has failed to make any further efforts towards obtaining
compliance.
We posted an Unlawful Structure placard on the building yesterday(12/03/2012).
Based on our non-productive history, I request enforcement action at your earliest convenience to pursue compliance.
Photo attachments as always, CRW tracking#W1106-003.
Thank you.
Ted Budden
1
