Please note, the below responses are only for <br /> the portion of the letter identified as"Structural". <br /> Item 1: A lateral force resisting element was shifted to reduce the maximum diaphragm <br /> cantilever allowing utilization of the exception to SDPWS 4.2.5.2. Additionally, in the attached <br /> updated lateral analysis you will find the drift calculations (Woodworks Shearwalls page 53) as <br /> well as updated diaphragm checks you requested. <br /> Item 2: Attached you will find the force couple calculations for the discontinuous Shearwall you <br /> requested. <br /> C <br /> Item 3: N-S &E-W a redundancy factor cif 1.3," as utilized in accordance with 12.3.4.2 of <br /> ASCE 7-10 as can be found in the Woodworks Shearwalls flexible diaphragm seismic design <br /> notes on page 39 as well as load generation calculations graphical load plan views. <br /> Item 4: Per attached steel beam analysis (RISA), seismic forces do not generate net uplift on <br /> beam. Beam analysis provided for review. <br /> Item 5: Per analysis (See RISA beam min. results), maximum force was from load combination <br /> that did not include EL. Governing load combination for footing was found to be 1.2D + 1.6S + <br /> L. Footing analysis summary provided for review.
