ORDINANCE NO. /6.67-14 AN ORDINANCE creating a special construction fund entitled "Forest Park Swim Center Reroof" Fund 370 , authorizing the design and replacement of the Forest Park Swim Center roof and incidental improvements . WHEREAS, there exists a critical need to replace the existing fabric roof that was wind damaged beyond repair ; and WHEREAS, the Council authorized the hiring of an architect for the swim pool roof and supporting improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: Section 1 : A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund 370 entitled "Design and Construction of the Forest Park Swim Center Reroof" , to accomplish the actions authorized in subsequent sections of this ordinance. Section 2 : Authorization is hereby granted to the Director of City Services, under the administration of the Mayor , to design and construct the Swim Center Reroof project to include replacing existing fabric roof with a permanent roof , lighting, reglazing of existing doors , acoustical treatment , revisions to heat and vent systems , entry vestibule, bathhouse heat and vent and incidental remodel as determined by the Director of City Services . Section 3 : The total cost of the improvements authorized is $606 ,062 which shall include all costs related to design, construction, contract administration, plan development, and associated costs. Section 4 : A. The sum of $606 ,062 is hereby appropriated from Fund 370 , "Design and Construction of Forest Park Swim Center Reroof" . B. Source of Funds - Fund 370 - Cash on Hand. Section 5 : The City Treasurer of the City of Everett is hereby authorized to negotiate a reasonable rate of interest and issue interest bearing warrants to satisfy interim construction costs not to exceed $606,062 . These interest bearing warrants shall be redeemed by the Treasurer at completion of the project .
