gy3 - % <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. /'0,„?O - <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 805-81 to clarify that the City <br /> 3 Council and the annual budget shall determine availability of funds <br /> for merit increases. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 <br /> Section 1: Section 11 of Ordinance No. 805-81 which reads as follows: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 "Section 11: When Awards Shall be Made. <br /> 9 The annual grade adjustments shall be made each January. The merit <br /> incentive pay awards will be made effective each July 1st. In no case <br /> 10 would an individual receive more than seven-and-one-half percent <br /> (7-1/2%) incentive pay within a calendar year with the sole exception of <br /> 11 the Mayor's exceptional merit award." <br /> 12 <br /> shall be amended to read hereafter as follows: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 "Section 11: When Awards Shall Be Made. <br /> 15 Subject to budget appropriation by City Council, the annual grade <br /> adjustments shall be made each January, and the merit incentive pay <br /> 16 awards will be made effective each July 1st. In no case would an <br /> individual receive more than seven-and-one-half percent (7-1/2%) <br /> 17 incentive pay within a calendar year with the sole exception of the <br /> Mayor's exceptional merit award." <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Section 2: Section 12 of Ordinance No. 805-81 which reads as follows: <br /> 20 <br /> "Section 12: Funding of Incentive or Merit Pay. <br /> 21 <br /> The departments, or designated fund or funds, shall include in their annual <br /> 22 budget incentive salary money equal to at least three percent (3%) of <br /> their budget for salaries and benefits of those employees not covered by <br /> 23 collective bargaining agreements. The money will be set aside in the <br /> same manner as money that is set aside for step increases in collective <br /> 24 bargaining agreements. All merit pay awards will come out of this <br /> incentive pay fund but may be added to from other funds by special <br /> 25 approval of the Mayor." <br /> 26 shall be amended to read hereafter as follows: <br /> 27 <br /> 28 "Section 12: Funding of Incentive or Merit Pay. <br /> 29 The departments, or designated fund or funds, shall include in their annual <br /> budget submission incentive salary money equal to at least three percent <br /> 30 (3%) of their budget for salaries and benefits of those employees not <br /> covered by collective bargaining agreements in the same manner as <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
