• <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. '9,"=yg <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE repealing the photographer's license, repealing <br /> 3 Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Chapter 11 of Ordinance No. <br /> 295-74 (EMC 5.44). <br /> 4 <br /> f 5 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City presently regulates the <br /> 6 <br /> photography industry within the City by requiring photographers performing work within <br /> 7 <br /> the City to acquire a photographer's license; and <br /> 8 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the purpose of the photographer's license <br /> 9 <br /> was to provide the general public some protection by requiring licensing and bonding; <br /> 10 <br /> and <br /> 11 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the nature of the photography industry <br /> 12 <br /> has changed since the adoption of the photography ordinance and the need for City <br /> 13 <br /> regulation no longer exists; and <br /> 14 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that even if photographers are no longer <br /> 15 <br /> required to obtain a City photography license, they still will be subject to the City's <br /> 16 <br /> B & 0 tax ordinance; and <br /> 17 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the majority of cities do not regulate the <br /> 18 <br /> photography industry through special licensing provisions; <br /> 19 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 20 <br /> Section 1: Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Chapter 11 of Ordinance No. <br /> 21 <br /> 295-74 (EMC 5.44) are hereby repealed. <br /> 22 <br /> Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after the date of <br /> 23 <br /> becoming valid. <br /> 24 pf <br /> 25 .mi/014..(0 <br /> ILLIAM E.
