1 Notwithstanding any language used in this Ordinance, it is not the intent of this <br /> 2 Ordinance to create a duty and/or cause of action running to any individual or <br /> 3 identifiable person, but rather any duty is intended to run only to the general public. <br /> 4 Section 2: Definitions. <br /> 5 Unless otherwise provided or unless the context clearly requires a different <br /> 6 meaning, the following terms shall have the meaning given to them herein: <br /> 7 A. "Alley" means a public highway not designed for general travel and used <br /> 8 primarily as a means of access to the rear of residences and business establishments. <br /> 9 B. "Alley entrance" means that portion of the street which provides access <br /> 10 to an alley through a curb cut or a depression in the constructed curb or, when there is <br /> 11 no constructed curb, that area in front of such alley as is well defined or is designated <br /> 12 by authorized signs or markings. "Alley entrance" shall include an alley exit for one <br /> 13 way alleys. <br /> 14 C. "Bus" means every motor vehicle designed for carrying more than ten <br /> 15 passengers and used for transportation of persons, and every motor vehicle, other than <br /> 16 taxicabs, designed and used for the transportation of persons for compensation. <br /> 17 D. "Bus stop" means a fixed portion of the highway parallel and adjacent to <br /> 18 the curb and designated by a sign to be reserved exclusively for busses for layover in <br /> 19 operating schedules or while waiting for, loading, or unloading passengers: Provided, <br /> 20 that such bus provides regularly scheduled service within the City. <br /> 21 E. "Camper" means a structure designed to be mounted upon a motor vehicle <br /> 22 and which provides facilities for human habitation or for temporary outdoor or <br /> 23 recreational lodging. <br /> 24 F. "City" means the City of Everett. <br /> 25 G. "City street" or "street" means every public highway, or part thereof <br /> 26 located within the limits of the City, except alleys. <br /> 27 H. "Crosswalk" means that portion of the roadway between the intersection <br /> 28 area and a prolongation or connection of the farthest sidewalk line or in the event there <br /> 29 are no improved sidewalks, then between the intersection area and a line ten feet <br /> 30 therefrom, except as modified by a marked crosswalk. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 -3- <br />
