<br /> AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for fiscal year
<br /> commencing January 1 , 1984, on all taxable property, both real and personal ,
<br /> in said City, subject to taxation thereon, for the purpose of raising a portion
<br /> of the revenue to carry on the different departments of said City for the ensuing
<br /> year, as required by the Charter of the City of Everett and the laws of the
<br /> State of Washington; prescribing and apportioning the same into the different funds
<br /> of said City for the fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof.
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted as required
<br /> by law the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expense of said City
<br /> for the ensuing year and the amount to be raised by taxation in said City for said
<br /> ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the qualified electors of the City voted approval of an additional regular
<br /> property tax in the amount equal to twenty-five cents per thousand dollars of the
<br /> assessed value of property in the City for funding an emergency medical services
<br /> program, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett will be required to pay the sum of $237,933, of which
<br /> $83,933 is on hand from 1983, during the year 1984 upon its General Obligation 1982
<br /> Housing Authority Bonds for payment of principal and interest , and
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett will be required to pay the sum of $332, 120 during the
<br /> year 1984 upon its General Obligation 1967 Street Improvement Bonds for payment of
<br /> principal and interest,
<br /> NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1 : That there be, and hereby is, levied upon real and personal property in the
<br /> City of Everett, subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal
<br /> purposes for the ensuing year commencing on January 1 , 1984, in the sum of $8,382,050.00
<br /> allocated as follows:
<br /> General Current Expense Fund $5,965,288.00
<br /> Emergency Medical Services 755,642.00
<br /> Firemen' s Pension Fund 1 , 175,000.00
<br /> General Obligation 1982 Housing
<br /> Authority Bond Interest 154,000.00
<br /> General Obligation 1967 Street Improvement
<br /> Bond, Principal and Interest 332, 120.00
<br /> TOTAL $8,382,050.00
<br /> Section 2: That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, directed to certify to the
<br /> County Assessor a copy of this ordinance in order that the same be extended upon the
<br /> general assessment roll of said County, in the same manner and at the same time as
<br /> the levy for the State and County taxes is extended.
<br /> Section 3: That said taxes shall be collected and paid to the City Treasurer at the
<br /> same time and in the same manner as provided by the laws of the State of Washington
<br /> relating to collection of taxes in cities of the first class.
