ORDINANCE No.`-70 -�J <br /> AN ORDINANCE creating a special construction fund <br /> entitled "Shore Avenue Drainage System Design and <br /> Construction Fund No. 364", and authorizing its Design <br /> and Construction. <br /> WHEREAS, there is an existing problem of landslides down the bluff north <br /> of Shore Avenue; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Shore Avenue Slope Stability Study recommends the <br /> installation of a drainage system on Shore Avenue to lower the local water table; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed drainage system will help to slow down the rate of <br /> landslide activity; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL <br /> THAT: <br /> Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund No. <br /> 364, entitled "Design and Construction of Shore Avenue Drainage System", to <br /> accomplish the actions authorized in subsequent sections of this ordinance. <br /> Section 2: Authorization is hereby given to design and construct the Shore <br /> Avenue Drainage System as shown in Exhibit A. <br /> Section 3: The total estimated cost of the improvements herein authorized <br /> is $100,000, which will include all costs related to design, construction, contract <br /> administration, plan development, and associated costs. <br /> Section 4: The Public Works Director is hereby given the responsibility of <br /> conducting all tasks outlined under Section 2, above. <br /> Section 5: The sum of $100,000 is hereby appropriated to Fund No. 364, <br /> "Shore Avenue Drainage System Design and Construction". <br /> 1. Program 268: Shore Avenue Drainage System <br /> Source of Funds: <br /> Sewer Fund No. 404: $100,000 <br /> Section 6: The City Treasurer of the City of Everett is hereby authorized <br /> to obtain interim financing at a reasonable rate of interest to satisfy <br /> construction costs not to exceed $100,000. The interim financing may be in any <br /> form permitted by law. Interim financing liabilities shall be paid by the <br /> Treasurer as soon as permanent financing monies, from sources as described <br /> elsewhere in the Ordinance, are received. <br />
