E. northerly right-of-way line to the present easterly right-of-way of INTERSTATE ROAD No. 5 (SR No. 1); (thence due South to the south line of said Section 9; thence westerly along the south line of said Section 9 a distance of 850 feet more or less to present generally westerly right-of-way of said INTERSTATE ROAD No. 5 (SR No. 1) (extended south to intersect the south line of said Section 9;) thence northerly on the westerly right-of-way line of said INTERSTATE ROAD No. 5 (SR No. 1) to intersect the MID-CHANNEL of JOHNSON SLOUGH; thence westerly along the MID-CHANNEL of JOHNSON SLOUGH to intersect the MID-CHANNEL of SMITH SLOUGH: • Thence northerly along the MID-CHANNEL of SMITH SLOUGH to the intersection of the north line of that portion of Government Lot 16, said intersection designated as Point "A", described as follows: Commencing at the southwest corner of Section 4, Township 29 North, Range 5 East, W.M.; thence North 01 56'31" West along the west line of said Section 4 a distance of 1135.40 feet; thence due East 663 feet more or less to MID-CHANNEL of SMITH SLOUGH and designated Point "A"; thence West from said Point "A" along said described north line in that portion of Government Lot 16 to the present easterly right-of-way of STATE ROAD No. 5 (SR 99); thence northerly along said right-of-way to intersect the MID-CHANNEL of UNION SLOUGH; thence northwesterly along the MID-CHANNEL of UNION SLOUGH to the intersection of the MID-CHANNEL of UNION SLOUGH and STEAMBOAT SLOUGH designated as the point of Beginning. Include existing Snohomish County right-of-way (a.k.a. bridge site) lying west of the MID-CHANNEL of the SNOHOMISH RIVER, and within the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 16, Township 29 North, Range 5 East, W.M. Section 2: That upon annexation of the property herein above set forth, said property thereof annexed shall become a part of the City of Everett, a municipal corporation, and shall be subject to all its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force. Upon annexation of the above described property, all of said property shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate on the same basis as other property located within the City of Everett is assessed and taxed, to pay for any then outstanding indebtedness of the City of Everett contracted prior to or existing at the date of this annexation. In addition, the annexed area will remain responsible unto any other lawfully formed municipal corporation to which the property is obligated at the time of annexation subject to a specific lien. Further, the City of Everett may incur additional operating expenses in supplying water or sewage unto persons who are located within the annexed area. Accordingly, utility rates for the area for which annexation is petitioned may vary from those rates from other areas within the City of Everett. Section 3: That the Clerk of Everett is hereby directed upon passage of the ordinance of annexation to deliver and to file with the County Council of Snohomish County, Washington, a certified copy of this ordinance of annexation.
