Please review and
respond to the comments below. These comments address building issues only. Additional
revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Public Works, Planning, or
Fire). All references refer to the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), as amended by the State
of Washington and adopted by the City of Everett. The current IBC referenced standard for
accessible design is the 2009 "Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities" (ICC/ANSI A117.1).
Federal ADA regulations and standards may be more restrictive. All required submittals must be of
sufficient detail and information to ensure that the proposed structure will be constructed in
compliance with all adopted codes.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of construction documents
reflecting the corrections requested. All revisions require the person delivering the
drawings to replace the revisions into the two sets here at our offices. For significant
revisions, or if the revisions are coming directly from a document printing facility,
please make arrangements with them to print and deliver two replacement sets.
Structural
1. Please show the changes in weight between the existing mechanical units versus the new
mechanical units. Per IEBC 2015 Sec 707.2, strengthening of structural elements may be
required per the IBC 2015 code forces if the dead load of the units increase stresses in
existing members by more than 5%. Please have a registered engineer in the state of
Washington provide stamped details and calculations if strengthening is required.
Sincerely, i
: .- _-—
.--- '—
J4mes Bronder, PE
Associate Engineer
Plans Examiner
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8810 • Fax (425) 257-8857
