For 2018,BVP funds are available for purchase of compliant armored vests ordered on or after <br /> April 1, 2018. Upon approval,the Everett Police Department will submit for funding to cover the maximum <br /> allowable BVP funding of fifty percent of the cost of 53 National Institute of Justice compliant vests over the <br /> two-year grant period. The total cost of the 53 vests is$43.049.25;therefore,the City is applying for <br /> $21,524.63. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents with the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance regarding <br /> application,utilization and acceptance of the 2018 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Program. <br /> 97 <br />
