Exploration Logs <br /> Grab soil samples were collected fiom each exploration location by an MTC Staff Geologist during hand <br /> auger advancement. Soil samples collected during fhe field exploration were classified in accordance <br /> with ASTM D2487. All samples were placed in plastyc bags to limit moisture loss, labeled, and returned <br /> to our laboratory for further examination and testing. <br /> Exploration logs are shown in full in this appendix. The explorations were monitored by our field <br /> geologist who examined and classified the materials encountered in accordance with the Unified Soil <br /> Classification System (USCS), obtained representativ�e soil samples, and recorded pertinent information <br /> including soil sample depths, stratigraphy, soil engineering characteristics, and groundwater occurrence. <br /> The strat�ification lines shown on the individual logs represeut the approximate boundaries betweeu soil <br /> types; actual transitions may be either more gradual or more severe. The conditions depicted are for the <br /> date and location indicated only, and it should not necessarily be expected that they are representative of <br /> conditions at other locations and times. <br /> i� <br />
