The HRA/VEBA accounts will belong to <br /> employees, are tax-free, and rolled balances may be taken into retirement. Keith Robertson,the City's <br /> Health Insurance Broker from Alliant Employee Benefits, will present strategies and opportunities to educate <br /> employees on their total health and lower the trend line for the City's employee health care costs,while also <br /> continuing to provide our employees with high quality, sustainable medical benefits. <br /> Effective January 1, 2019,the City desires to have the new plan,the near-site clinic, and the HR.A/VEBA in <br /> place for appointive employees and whichever unions are interested in moving forward. The City is <br /> presently working with VERA Whole Health to operate the near-site City-sponsored clinic, and working with <br /> Alliant to identify an HRA/VEBA provider. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> A briefmg on redesign of the City's self-insured Health Management Associates (HMA)Medical plan. <br /> 1 <br />
