Ted de Budden
From: Donald Cunningham
Sent: Thursday, December 21, 2017 3:48 PM
To: Jessie singh
Cc: Ted de Budden
Subject: RE: 5730 Highway Place
Hello Mr. Singh,
I have attached my notes below—which have not yet been reviewed by Mr. Budden—but I hope they will be helpful as
you hire electrical and plumbing assistance and make repairs with required building permits.
Most important: the basement unit (Unit#13) must remain vacant and not be occupied until and unless approved by the
City of Everett.
Please hire an Electrical Contractor to address the unpermitted electrical alterations in Unit#13 and those accessible
from the Laundry Room and ensure final condition is code compliant, safe, and approved. Please start on this right away
with the goal of having this work done in January 2018.
Please obtain a plumbing permit to make the water heaters compliant and clear the items obstructing access to panels
in the Utility room.
I will call you when I return from vacation,
Thanks for your efforts toward compliance,
Don C
(12/21/201710:55 AM DSCJ
Met owner,Jesse Singh, and property manager Raul, at the property with Ted de eudden and Jeff Alford. We inspected
the basement unit#13. It was currently vacant but the unit was clearly a new dwelling unit created without permits and
approvals and in a non-compliant manner.
eudden found evidence of work without permits including Unit 13 lacked compliant emergency egress windows (50+
inches- too high above the floor), had a space heater installed in the wall with a wooden frame (clearly non-compliantJ
and a small hatch/door in the kitchen wall- that led to a sub panel within the wall(obviously installed in non-compliant
manner).
Additional non-compliant alteratian in the basement included: multiple hot-water heaters without required straps and
without required pipes extending from emergency overflow valves, other electrical items in laundry room that were not
installed in compliant manner.
From: Jessie singh [mailto:jsmomi@hotmail.com]
Sent: Thursday, December 21, 2017 8:56 AM
To: Donald Cunningham
Subject: Re: 5730 Highway Place
Yes we meeting at 10
Sent from my iPhone
Jessie singh
425-478-9865
1;' 7
