CITY CITY OF EVERETT LODGING TAX GRANT MEMORANDUM This Memorandum created this 4 day of , 2018, by the City of Everett, a municipal corporation under the laws of the State of Washin�einafter referred to as the � g "City," memorializes an allocation, not to exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000), of the City's Lodging Tax revenue to the City Cultural Arts Manager, Carol Thomas,to be used for tourism promotion in connection with Everett's Sorticulture event. City of Everett Lodging Tax revenue is allocated for the purpose of encouraging tourism within the City, with a particular focus of attracting potential tourists living outside of the City. Therefore,the Cultural Arts Manager will use the funds allocated under this memorandum to provide tourism promotion for Everett's Sorticulture event. "Tourism promotion"means, for the purpose of this Agreement, activities, operations, and expenditures designed to increase tourism, including but not limited to advertising, publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists; developing strategies to expand tourism; operating tourism promotion agencies; and funding the marketing of or the operation of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists. The Cultural Arts Manager shall, in accordance with her 2018 proposal, which proposal is attached and incorporated herein by reference, use all funds to promote tourism through social media, billboard, print, banner, website, and radio advertising. As a condition of the allocation,the Cultural Arts Manager must, within thirty (30) days of the end of the event, submit to the City's Budget Manager, Rae Ann Weighter, an Economic Impact Report, including, at a minimum the actual number of people attending the event: • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip away from their place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accommodations; • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip to a place fifty miles or more one way from their place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight; and • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip from another country or state outside of their place of residence or their business. fy,�- 644 assie .. .
