CITY <br /> CITY OF EVERETT <br /> LODGING TAX GRANT MEMORANDUM <br /> This Memorandum created this 4 day of , 2018, by the City of Everett, a municipal <br /> corporation under the laws of the State of Washin�einafter referred to as the <br /> � g "City," <br /> memorializes an allocation, not to exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000), of the City's Lodging Tax <br /> revenue to the City Cultural Arts Manager, Carol Thomas,to be used for tourism promotion in <br /> connection with Everett's Sorticulture event. <br /> City of Everett Lodging Tax revenue is allocated for the purpose of encouraging tourism within the City, <br /> with a particular focus of attracting potential tourists living outside of the City. Therefore,the Cultural <br /> Arts Manager will use the funds allocated under this memorandum to provide tourism promotion for <br /> Everett's Sorticulture event. "Tourism promotion"means, for the purpose of this Agreement, activities, <br /> operations, and expenditures designed to increase tourism, including but not limited to advertising, <br /> publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists; <br /> developing strategies to expand tourism; operating tourism promotion agencies; and funding the <br /> marketing of or the operation of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists. The Cultural <br /> Arts Manager shall, in accordance with her 2018 proposal, which proposal is attached and incorporated <br /> herein by reference, use all funds to promote tourism through social media, billboard, print, banner, <br /> website, and radio advertising. <br /> As a condition of the allocation,the Cultural Arts Manager must, within thirty (30) days of the end of <br /> the event, submit to the City's Budget Manager, Rae Ann Weighter, an Economic Impact Report, <br /> including, at a minimum the actual number of people attending the event: <br /> • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip away from their place of residence or business <br /> and staying overnight in paid accommodations; <br /> • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip to a place fifty miles or more one way from their <br /> place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight; and <br /> • Traveling for business or pleasure on a trip from another country or state outside of their <br /> place of residence or their business. <br /> fy,�- <br /> 644 <br /> assie .. .
