(
_.W W. ._.. _. --
From: Jeff Harris [mailto:Lwharris yahoo.com]
Sent: Sunday, December 17, 2017 11:43 AM
To: Engineering / Public Services
Subject: Code enforcement informed me I need to get a permit, please give me advice
Hi:
2306 Lombard is the address, in Everett. I put an area to park in front and improved what was in back (there was a very
large gate that I cut in half and put in gravel to make it easier to put a car in back. The long-term tenant(he passed in
October) would park in the neighbor's rarely used driveway, I wanted to avoid conflict with the neighbor in the future.
In front, Code enforcement informed me I would need a permit for a curb and have an asphalt or concrete slab. Can I
either just remove the gravel and return it to grass or change the shape of the gravel so it parallel with the sidewalk and
use the neighbor's driveway (I believe he'll give me written permission) and use large concrete pavers (my neighbor at
2905 Victor Place used those under permit pictured below).
In the back, can I use pavers instead of using concrete, or just leave it as is and get a permit? The regulation saying
gravel isn't a suitable parking surface on the letter referred to the Jan 2017 requirement being for the front yard.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. If ine coming in is necessary, I will be happy to do so. If my ideas don't
work or aren't doable, please give me suggestions. If necessary, I could just have the tenants park on the street, I would
prefer to salvage some of the labor and materials I used, but if that isn't cost effective or doable, I'll do what I have to.
Thanks, Jeff Harris
3
