With only one bid proposal received,a <br /> competitive bid environment was not achieved. Public Works recommends rejecting the bid received and re-bidding <br /> in late 2018/early 2019. <br /> This project will complete Hoyt Avenue Streetscape Improvements by constructing pedestrian,bicycle,motor vehicle <br /> and traffic safety improvements between Pacific Avenue and Wall Street to include curb,gutter, sidewalk, street trees, <br /> lighting,bike lanes,signal improvements,and ADA improvements. <br /> The funding sources for this project are: <br /> State Grant—Pedestrian&Bicycle Safety $ 554,420 <br /> Fund 119—Street Improvements 91,345 <br /> Fund 157—Traffic Mitigation 28,665 <br /> Total Funds $674,420 <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Reject the bid received on April 17,2018 for the Downtown Streetscape Improvements Phase 2—Pacific Avenue to <br /> Wall Street,and authorize a new call for bids to be issued within the next ten months. <br /> 5 <br />
