Please submit a building permit application for the drawings, for plan review and permanent record.
2. The drawings for a public works permit should indicate the location of van and standard accessible
parking, width of accessible parking stalls, width of access aisles for accessible parking, curb cuts,
accessible parking vertical signage, and designated and marked crosswalks to the buildings served
where crossing traffic lanes, per IBC sections 1104.3, 1106.1, 1106.4, 1106.5 and 1106.6 as amended
by Washington State, and IEBC sections 410.5 and 410.7.
a. A handout for parking accessibility is available online: https://everettwa.gov/access
b. The costs for providing the accessible route of the parking and the route to the building served
are not required to exceed a cost of 20% in addition to the cost of the alterations, per IEBC
section 410.7 exception 1.
3. The total number of accessible parking spaces is determined based on required parking, per IBC
section 11063 and IBC table 1106.1. Please summarize this information on the drawings, to include
the specific number of accessible and van accessible parking spaces required.
a. Required parking is determined by Planning and Traffic Engineering.
