2 <br /> Staff Report for Community Development Block Grant, <br /> HOME,and Housing Trust Funds— 2060 <br /> 2018-2019 Program Year <br /> The Citizen's Committee for Housing and Community Development reviewed proposals for the <br /> expenditure of the City of Everett's Community Development Block Grant program and other <br /> available funding. A Public hearing was held on January 7, 2018 for needs assessment. The <br /> Committee studied each proposal and interviewed each proponent. Four meetings and eight <br /> hours of interviews took place, concluding on January 17, 2018. Another public hearing was <br /> held on January 17, 2018 for comments concerning the Committee's recommendation to City <br /> Council. <br /> The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development confirmed the City of Everett will be <br /> allocated $878,672for the 2018 Community Development Block Grant. The available CDBG <br /> funds available for the program year includes reallocation of uncompleted project or unused <br /> funds from prior years in the amount of$39,248 The Committee recommends funding at the <br /> following levels: <br /> Public Services* 15% <br /> Program Administration 20% <br /> Non-Public Services 65% <br /> *Based on the original estimate of CDBG funds at the time of ,j. <br /> Committee meetings <br /> In addition to CDBG funds, the City has available Housing Trust 2060, HOME, and CHIP <br /> revolving loan rehabilitation funds for projects. <br /> The Annual Action Plan and the Consolidated Plan were available for public comment <br /> commencing April 20, 2018 and ending on May 21, 2017. No comments have been received to <br /> date. <br /> Each one of the members of the Committee provided a valuable contribution to this <br /> recommendation. This group was very dedicated while performing this difficult task. Staff <br /> congratulates the Committee for a job well done and thanks them for their time and effort. <br /> Participating Committee members were: Sue Johnson, Rick Dorris, David Simpson, Greg <br /> Campbell, Peter Sontra, Bruce Overstreet, Michelle Jennings, Kate Haagen, and Demba Baldeh. <br /> 14 <br />
