• ORDINANCE NO. ?97- ' AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for fiscal year commencing January 1 , 1983, on all taxable property, both real and personal , in said City, subject to taxation thereon, for the purpose of raising a portion of the revenue to carry on the different departments of said City for the ensuing year, as required by the Charter of the City of Everett and the laws of the State of Washington; prescribing and apportioning the same into the different funds of said City for the fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted as required by law the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expense of said City for the ensuing year and the amount to be raised by taxation in said City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation, and WHEREAS, the qualified electors of the City voted approval of an additional regular property tax in the amount equal to twenty-five cents per thousand dollars of the assessed value of property in the City for funding an emergency medical services program, and WHEREAS, the City of Everett will be required to pay the sum of $265,000 during the year 1983 upon its General Obligation 1982 Housing Authority Bonds for payment of interest, and WHEREAS, the City of Everett will be required to pay the sum of $333,235 during the year 1983 upon its General Obligation 1967 Street Improvement Bonds for payment of principal and interest, NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 : That there be, and hereby is , levied upon real and per- sonal property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year commencing on January 1 , 1983, in the sum of $8,239,443.00 allocated as follows : General Current Expense Fund $5,567,984.00 Emergency Medical Services 948,224.00 Firemen 's Pension Fund 1,125,000.00 General Obligation 1982 Housing Authority Bond Interest 265,000.00 General Obligation 1967 Street Improvement Bond, Principal and Interest 333,235.00 TOTAL $8,239,443.00 Section 2: That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, directed to certify to the County Assessor a copy of this ordinance in order that the same be extended upon the general assessment roll of said County, in the same manner and at the same time as the levy for the State and County taxes is extended.
