ORDINANCE NO. 84.,"1/-5. .2_, <br /> AN ORDINANCE creating a special construction fund en- <br /> titled "Sewer Shop Construction Fund No. 356" financed <br /> from the Sewer Fund No. 404 for the construction of a <br /> sewer, paint, and welding shop building at 3200 Cedar St. <br /> WHEREAS, there is currently insufficient space for parking certain sewer <br /> equipment which must be protected from freezing weather; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been directed to remove the welding and paint and <br /> sign shops from the main building at 3200 Cedar Street due to safety hazards; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the recent increase in rates for septage disposal has resulted <br /> in a significant increase in sewer revenues, sufficient to finance the con- <br /> struction of the proposed building; and <br /> WHEREAS, the moving of existing shop space to the proposed building will <br /> allow for future expansion of office space at 3200 Cedar Street; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: <br /> Section 1 : A construction fund is hereby established as Fund <br /> No. 356 entitled "Sewer Shop Construction Fund" to accomplish <br /> the actions authorized in subsequent sections of this ordinance. <br /> Section 2: Authorization is hereby granted to the Director of <br /> Public Works to construct a sewer, paint and sign, and welding <br /> shop and to provide for planning, design, construction, and <br /> contract administration necessary to accomplish this task. The <br /> City is authorized to acquire all materials, equipment, personal <br /> and real property interest therein, easement, franchises, and <br /> rights-of-way necessary to carry out the above-described plans. <br /> Said plans of improvements are all as more specifically set <br /> forth in preliminary maps and plans therefore now on file with <br /> the City, and such plans shall be subject to such additions or <br /> changes as to details or other changes not affecting the main <br /> general plan, as may be authorized from time to time by the Public <br /> Works Director of the City of Everett. <br /> Section 3: The total estimated cost of the improvements herein <br /> authorized is $530,000 which will include all related costs for <br /> design, construction, contract administration, plan development <br /> and associated costs. <br /> Section 4: The Public Works Director of the City of Everett under <br /> administration of the Mayor is hereby given the responsibility of <br /> conducting all tasks outlined under Section 2 above. <br /> Section 5: A. The sum of $530,000 is hereby appropriated to <br /> Fund No. 356, "Sewer Shop Construction Fund" , <br /> Program No. 244. <br /> B. The source of funds for the appropriation to <br /> Program No. 244 shall be from Sewer Fund No. 404 <br /> revenues resulting from charges for the treatment <br /> of septage and like material received at the City's <br /> septic waste disposal site. <br />
