T ►
GEOLOGIC SETTING
The existing residential home site is located in Everett,Washington. The geologic structure in the area is comprised of silty
loam and the site is relatively flat. It is our opinion that the settlement is a result of improper foundation drainage, resulting in
localized settlement. We believe that suitable support can be achieved by installing helical and/or push piers.
SUMMARY
The ultimate load requirement for the helical piers is 26000 lbs, and based on the geologic setting,we expect the piers to
achieve adequate capacity at approximately 10-25 feet. We recommend that the piers with a 2 7/8"shaft and 10"diameter
helix plate be installed to a minimum depth of 10-ft and a minimum installation torque of 2900 ft-lbs,or refusal.
The ultimate load requirement for the push piers is 34000 lbs, and based on the geologic setting,we expect the piers to
achieve adequate capacity at approximately 30-35 feet. We recommend that the piers with a 2 7/8"shaft be installed to a
minimum depth of 10-ft and a minimum installation pressure of 7000 psi, or refusal, using a 25T hydraulic ram rated at 10000
psi.
Please give our office a call if you have any questions or need further assistance.
Regards,
Daniel Stark.
