Ted de Budden
From: Ted de Budden
Sent: Thursday,August 25, 2016 11:12 AM
To: Donald Cunningham
Subject: RE: 2405 Rockefeller
Don,
I have reviewed our file records and permit history for the property at 2405 Rockefeller Ave as requested.
I am unable to locate any permits for the alterations shown in the photo attachments you sent me with the email
inquiry.
I have also reviewed the Snohomish County Tax Assessors Structure information for this building which identifies the
structure as a one story one bedroom dwelling.
I agree with your findings that the structure has been altered without required permits and approvals to create the attic
rooms.
Your photos also indicate that the attic rooms appear to lack the minimum size and other occupancy requirements to be
used for habitable space as outlined in the IPMC.
The building is an Unlawful Structure as defined by the code. (IPMC Section 108.1.4)
I support and encourage your enforcement action to abate these violations.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide assistance in this matter.
Ted de Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Department
425.257 7271
From: Donald Cunningham
Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2016 9:16 AM
To: Ted de Budden
Cc: Spring Wathen
Subject: 2405 Rockefeller
Ted-
This is a property Spring is working on—with Hearing scheduled for Sept 1st. The owner lives on the main floor but has
created 3 rooms in the attic which he is renting to tenants. Can you check the Permit History and County Structure Detail
to determine if you agreed there is evidence of unpermitted alteration and occupancy that renders the structure
Unlawful? Inspection photos w notes attached.
Thanks!
Don
Donald Cunningham
1
