June 20, 2018 <br /> Hugh Spitzer presented the ordinance, along with a memorandum <br /> explaining the ordinance. The ordinances included multiple iterations. Mr. <br /> Spitzer stated he would be seeking input from Council. <br /> Greg Lineberry, Everett Districts Now (EDN), presented the EDN proposal <br /> and the differences between the proposed ordinance and the EDN <br /> proposal. <br /> Considerable discussion ensued regarding the proposed ordinances <br /> including: the distinctions between the ordinances; the number of districts; <br /> the survey data; the treatment of annexations; the timing of the first election <br /> for districts; the transition process; the timing, selection and composition of <br /> the districting commission; residency requirements; , multiple options on <br /> the ballot; and consideration of EDN's recommendations/suggestions. <br /> Mr. Spitzer was asked to provide Council with an updated draft of his <br /> ordinance taking into consideration the directions and comments provided <br /> by Council. <br /> The following people, all of Everett, spoke in support of the EDN proposal: <br /> • Brenda Bolanos Ivory <br /> • Michael Trujillo <br /> • Jackie Minchew <br /> • Chris Glans <br /> • Paula Townsell <br /> • Lois Wentink <br /> • Megan Dunn <br /> • Diane Claussen <br /> • Charlene Rawson <br /> • Mary Rollins <br /> COUNCIL BILL 1806-21 <br /> FIRST READING: <br /> 187 <br />
