There are many reasons for this:
• 5-2 Districts is the People's Choice!
• The city survey results mirror our experience with our own extensive community outreach.
• Everett Districts Now crafted a detailed proposal able to withstand legal scrutiny after many
hours of meetings with residents and community groups and hundreds of hours of research.
The survey response shows a clear vote for the Everett Districts Now model, or one that creates
even greater district-based representation.
• Fewer districts allow one area to continue to control the issues with a 4-vote majority.
• By having an option for Approve/Disapprove and 2 options with 5/2 and 4/3, the council is
confusing voters. We need leadership on the council, EDN was capable of researching options and
creating a plan that was agreed on and endorsed by a broad range of representatives. Why can't the
council do the same and put a simple option on the ballot-do you want 5-2 districts?
Please stop obstructing this movement to make Everett better represented. Please stop obfuscating
and put a simple ordinance on the ballot. Read the writing on the wall! We want districts!
Thank you,
Nancy Sosnove
3816 Railway Avenue, Everett
Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts.
Daniel Patrick Moynihan
Sent from eM Client I www.emclient.com
1
