S r
Ted Budden
From: Brian Doolan
Sent: Tuesday,August 04, 2015 9:53 AM
To: Sabrina Fandler;Ted Budden;Jim Spooner; Kevin Fagerstrom
Cc: Tony Lee
Subject: RE: Settlement Issues at 1127 W Mukilteo Blvd
Good morning,
The drainage system is a private system and the owners would need to hire someone to inspect it.There are 4 private
side sewers running throughout this area that would be the owners responsibility to inspect. I will have my crew inspect
the sewer main that the side sewers connect into as soon as I can which is probably a month out at this time due to the
back log of summer work. If there is anything I can help with please let me know. Thanks, Brian
Brian Doolan
Maintenance&Operations Supervisor
Sewer&Drainage Department
City of Everett
Office (425) 257-8828
Cell (425) 501-5124
From: Sabrina Fandler
Sent: Tuesday, August 04, 2015 9:40 AM
To:Ted Budden; Jim Spooner; Brian Doolan; Kevin Fagerstrom
Cc: Tony Lee
Subject: Settlement Issues at 1127 W Mukilteo Blvd
Hello,
On Monday August 3R1, homeowners Kelly Hager and Thom Martin of 1127 W Mukilteo Blvd came in to the Permit
Services Counter with major concerns of settlement at their property. In the 19 years they have owned their property,
the southeast corner of their property has settled approximately 3.5ft.They have had emergency repairs on their gas
line because they frequently notice that it has shifted down the side of their house by 1ft or more, which has caused the
gas pipes to have to be dug up and replaced and also caused emergency repair for pipe breakage and gas leaks. They
have also had to replace their deck 4-5 times as it keeps settling by 1ft or more each time. The southeast corner of this
property is the daylight basement and deck of the house. At this location, there is a grade transition of about 10ft from
the southwest to the southeast, where the basement daylights. The other portions of the property have not experienced
settling of the same magnitude, if any at all.We would like to investigate some of the adjacent utilities to determine if
this settlement has had any impacts on the adjacent properties and/or City utilities. Some items we would like to further
explore are listed below:
1. Check the water meter to determine if there is an internal water leak within the house. Also check the water
meters of the surrounding properties.
