6. Mileage and travel time will not be compensated. <br /> III. Rules for Non-classified Paramedic <br /> A. These rules apply to employees who maintain Washington State Paramedic <br /> Certification, but do not occupy a Civil Service classified paramedic position. <br /> 1. Non-classified paramedics must have attained first class firefighter status. <br /> 2. Non-classified paramedics will not be used to staff the paramedic units, <br /> unless assigned as a third paramedic for ongoing skills competencies. <br /> 3. Non-classified paramedics will remain in whichever overtime pool <br /> corresponds with their current Civil Service classification. <br /> 4. Non-classified paramedics wishing to become classified must apply and <br /> test with all other paramedic applicants and appear on the eligible register <br /> following Civil Service rules. <br /> 5. The City will promote classified paramedics following Civil Service Rules. <br /> 6. Ongoing approval for Washington State Paramedic Certification must be <br /> approved by the Medical Program Director. <br /> 51 <br />
