Port of Everett
March 7, 2016
Tony Lee
City of Everett- Building Department
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
RE: Port of Everett Weyerhaeuser Building Relocation City Building Code 3409
Dear Mr. Lee,
Per our past communications regarding the above referenced project, the Port has now
finalized its construction design plan set for the Weyerhaeuser Building's relocation to
Boxcar Park. Accompanied with this letter are formal applications for City Public Works
and Building permits, respectively.
Last year, City and Port staff met to discuss the relocation route the building would
travel. This discussion also covered the requirements under City Building Code Section
3409 — Historic Buildings. In regards to moving the historically listed Weyerhaeuser
Building, the Port's code and design decisions were based on, and followed the standards
listed in Chapter 12 of the International Existing Building Code (IEBC).
The Port would be welcome to provide a site visit and walk through of the building upon
your request and to satisfy the City's needs ahead of the building relocation this summer.
If you should have any comments or questions, I may be reached at (425) 388-0613.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
ti 7It Zae
Brandon M.
