The project was designed,a call for bids was authorized, and bids were opened <br /> in April. Only one bid was received and on May 23rd, Council rejected the bid. <br /> Another project,the Downtown Streetscape Improvements Phase 3 -Rucker Avenue (Pacific Avenue to <br /> Everett Avenue), is approaching completion of final bid documents. The Public Works Department <br /> recommends adding the Hoyt Streetscape project as a separate bid schedule to the Phase 3 project. The <br /> intent is to bid both projects (Phase 2 and Phase 3) as a single bid package to attain a more competitive <br /> bidding environment. <br /> Amendment No. 2 will engage Perteet,Inc. to make several final design revisions and incorporate the Phase <br /> 2 project into a single bid package that contains separate bid schedules for the Phase 2 work and the Phase 3 <br /> work in order to comply with grant reporting requirements. This amendment adds $33,863.00 to the <br /> Professional Services Agreement. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Perteet, Inc. for <br /> engineering and preparation of bid documents for the Downtown Streetscape Improvements Phase 2—Hoyt <br /> Avenue,Pacific Avenue to Wall Street for an amountiNto exceed$33,863.00. <br />
