The original lease agreement was dated June 2001,however the monthly rent did not commence until the space was ready for occupancy by the tenant which began November 1, 2001. Since then,rent and common area maintenance (CAM) charges have been adjusted on the November 1st of each year while the lease term was renewed July 1St of each year. The City and Snohomish County 911 desire to exercise the lease renewal as provided for under the lease agreement and adjust the lease term so that it is consistent with the rent and CAM adjustment anniversary date of November 1St The attached Amendment No. 3 renews the lease for a period of 16-months from July 1, 2018,to October 31, 2019, instead of 24-months as provided for in the lease agreement but will result in consistency between the lease expiration and rental adjustment dates all occurring on November 1St of each year that the lease is in effect. A rent increase based upon the Consumer Price Index will occur November 1St of this year. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign Lease Amendment No. 3 to lease agreement with Snohomish County Police and Auxiliary Services Center for space at the South Precinft7Building.
