Five workers and two deputies were killed and at least 30 were wounded. The event became
known as the "Everett Massacre", the bloodiest incident in the history of labor in the Pacific Northwest.
Metro Everett includes portions of two local historic overlay zones (Riverside and Norton-Grand) and one national historic
district (Hewitt). The southern boundary of the Rucker-Grand Historic Overlay and the northern boundary of the Rucker Hill
National Historic District touch the Metro Everett boundary. These overlays and districts include homes and buildings that have
been recognized as historically significant and contributing in character to the neighborhood.
Chapter 2,Existing Conditions 3 August 29,2018
