February 19, 1980 <br /> 15800 Woodinville-Redmond Roadfi/� 487-2491 , 885-7101 <br /> Woodinville, WASH. 98072 �� <br /> B3k/ <br /> `• <br /> D rp--) n ,`4� <br /> Mr. Hugh Warren F ? 2 1980 <br /> Public Works Director <br /> 3200 Cedar CITY OF EVERETT <br /> Everett, WA. 98201 Public Works Dept. <br /> Dear Mr. Warren: <br /> We have applied for a building permit for a 33-unit condominium project <br /> on our property at 101 WEST CASINO ROAD in South Everett. <br /> Your engineers have informed us that there is a drainage problem at <br /> EAST GLEN along SR 526 which would be aggravated were we to build and <br /> black-top on this site. <br /> Therefore, a building permit can not be issued to us until the city of <br /> Everett has installed new drainage facilities to take care of this existing <br /> problem. <br /> It is our understanding that any such repairs or improvements, as much as <br /> they are needed, have not been scheduled, nor included in the-budget, for <br /> this fiscal year. <br /> We would very much have liked to start construction during the month of <br /> March this year, but we have been made aware that construction can not <br /> start until this drainage problem has been resolved. <br /> Mr. Mary Haglund in the engineering department, has told us that a cost <br /> estimate of around $40,000 for the installation of new drainage facilities, <br /> has been worked out a few months ago. During other meetings with the city <br /> engineers, we gathered that this work was on their list of priorities of <br /> things to be done, yet it had not been presented to the city counsil for <br /> approval . - ' <br /> It has been suggested to us that, since we are interested in starting our <br /> construction as soon as possible and, since the city engineers are interested <br /> in getting the drainage problem taken care of, we make an offer to contribute <br /> to the cost of having the work done, and that such an arrangement would have <br /> a good chance of passing in city counsil . <br /> If you too, are of the opinion that an offer to share with the city in the <br /> cost of this needed improvement, we would be willing to participate at a rate <br />
