ORDINANCE NO. 6' 7G7' AN ORDINANCE authorizing purchase of nine Multisonics Signal Controller on an existing contract and creating a special construction fund entitled "Traffic Signal Controllers" and declaring an emergency to exist. WHEREAS, City Council authorized the contract purchase of up to 50 signal controllers with Multisonics with purchase bid prices for two years on July 22, 1977; and WHEREAS, after July 27, 1979, said contract must be renegotiated or a new bid and award be made for purchase of Signal Controllers; and WHEREAS, eight existing Moduvac controllers are experiencing increasing trouble calls and maintenance problems; and WHEREAS, these eight controllers are not scheduled for replacement under our Signal Reconstruction Programs; and WHEREAS, Federal Aid program 120 (d) can be used to purchase the Multisonic solid state controllers that will eliminate the Moduvac failure problems and provide capacity for control of changing traffic patterns; and WHEREAS, TRF, College Plaza Developers, has agreed to fund traffic signal improvements necessary to maintain safe and efficient control of increased traffic at SR 529 (old 99) and 10 St.; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund No. 335 entitled "Traffic Signal Controllers". All revenue and expenditures required for the acquisition of these traffic signal controllers shall be recorded in this Fund.
