7 / 2- '/ 7 / <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO,X717- 7 9 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 361-75, Section 31, <br /> also known as Section 14. 16. 330 of the Everett Municipal <br /> Code on service pipe for new plats. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 31: Service Pipe - New Plats - Street Paving. At such time as the <br /> Water Department is installing a section of distribution system piping in a new <br /> plat or subdivision under a street which is to be paved after completion of the <br /> water main installation, the Water Department shall, at the same time, install <br /> water service piping extending from the main under and across that portion of <br /> the street which is to be paved to each of the platted lots on the side of the <br /> street opposite the new main. It is the intent of this section to minimize the <br /> number of "open-cuts" required across a newly paved street in order to pro- <br /> vide water service to subsequently constructed homes on the side of the street <br /> opposite the new main. The cost of materials for installation of such service <br /> pipe crossings shall be borne by the developer or local improvement district <br /> paying for the distribution system piping. The cost of labor and equipment <br /> rental for installation of such service pipe crossings shall be borne by the Wa- <br /> ter Department. When the developer or local improvement district has paid <br /> for installation of the service pipe under the street, the individual service con- <br /> nection cost shall be reduced to Sixty Dollars ($60. 00) for a 4" (inch) service, <br /> Ninety Dollars ($90. 00) for a 1 inch service and Four Hundred Dollars ($400. Od) <br /> for a 2 inch service. <br /> Being the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 31: Services For New Developments. At such time as the Water De- <br /> partment or developer is installing a section of distribution system piping in a <br /> new plat or subdivision, the Water Department or developer shall, at the same <br /> time, install water service piping from the main to each of the platted lots. It <br /> is the intent of this section to minimize the number of "open-cuts" required in <br /> a newly paved street, in order to provide water service to subsequently con- <br /> structed homes. Similarly, for other developments requiring new mains, the <br /> developer may elect to install services at the time of main installation. The <br /> cost of materials, labor, and equipment necessary to complete the service <br /> line installations to City standards shall be borne by the developer or local im- <br /> provement district paying for the distribution system piping. At such time as <br /> a request is made for a building permit, the individual making application shall <br /> deposit with the Water Department, the sum of Sixty Dollars ($60. 00) for a ser- <br /> vice connection of any size which has been previously installed complete by a <br /> developer or local improvement district.
