• <br /> • <br /> 1 (c) Type B: No Type B gas vent shall terminate less than one <br /> foot (1') above the roof through which is passes, nor less than <br /> 2 four feet (4') from any portion of the building which extends <br /> at an angle of more than 45 degrees upward from the <br /> 3 horizontal. <br /> 4 (d) Type L: No Type L venting system shall terminate less than <br /> two feet (2') above the roof through which it passes, not less <br /> 5 than four feet (4') from any portion of the building which <br /> extends at an angle of more than 45 degrees upward from <br /> 6 the horizontal. <br /> 7 (e) Venting System: No venting system shall terminate less <br /> than four feet (4') below or four feet (4') horizontally from, <br /> 8 nor less than one foot (1') above any door, window, or gravity <br /> air inlet into any building. <br /> 9 <br /> (f) No venting system shall terminate less than three feet (3') <br /> 10 above any forced air inlet located within ten feet (10') or <br /> less than four feet (4') from any property line except a <br /> 11 public way. <br /> 12 Section 2318 - Area of Venting System <br /> 13 Every venting system shall have an internal cross-sectional area of not <br /> less than the area of the vent collar on the waterheater unless the venting <br /> 14 system has been designed in accordance with Section 2312 (d) in no case <br /> shall such area be less than 7 square inches, unless the venting system is <br /> 15 an integral part of a listed water heater. <br /> 16 Section 2319 - Multiple Appliance Venting <br /> 17 (a) Two or more oil or listed gas-burning appliances may be <br /> connected to one common gravity-type venting system <br /> 18 provided the appliances are equipped with an approved <br /> primary safety control capable of shutting off the burners <br /> 19 and the venting system is designed to conform with Section <br /> 2312 (d) of this Code or complies with the following <br /> 20 requirements: <br /> 21 1. Appliances which are connected to a common venting <br /> system shall be located within the same story of the <br /> 22 building, except engineered venting systems as <br /> provided in Section 2312 (d). <br /> 23 <br /> 2. Two or more connectors shall not enter a common <br /> 24 venting system unless the inlets are offset in such a <br /> manner that no portion of any inlet is opposite the <br /> 25 other inlets. <br /> 26 3. Where two or more appliances are connected to one <br /> venting system, the venting system area shall be not <br /> 27 less than the area of the largest vent connector plus <br /> 50 per cent of the areas of the additional vent <br /> 28 connectors. An oval vent may be used provided its <br /> area is not less than the area of the round pipe for <br /> 29 which it is substituted. <br /> 30 4. Each vent connector of a multiple venting system <br /> shall have the greatest possible rise consistent with <br /> 31 the headroom available between the draft hood <br /> outlet, the barometric damper or the fuel collar and <br /> 32 the point of interconnection to a manifold, to a <br /> common vent or to a chimney. <br /> - 21 - <br />
