Director E-18 1820 --- --- --- 2912 <br /> 9 <br /> Section 3: To provide a method of orderly transition from old salary schedules to a <br /> 10 new salary schedule, the following shall apply: <br /> A. Any employee whose base salary under a previous schedule is greater <br /> 11 than the base salary provided in the schedule contained in this <br /> ordinance, shall continue to receive the previous base pay; provided, <br /> 12 however, that an employee working in a classification designated to <br /> be in a salary range prefaced by range letter "E" shall continue to <br /> 13 receive the previous base salary if the Mayor has not set a new salary <br /> range within the limits of the appropriate new "E" classification <br /> 14 range as provided in this ordinance. <br /> 15 B. Range numbers prefaced by "A", "B", and "C" are considered to be <br /> monthly rates payable pursuant to applicable collective bargaining <br /> 16 agreements. <br /> C. Range numbers prefaced by"E" are considered to be the minimum and <br /> 17 maximum salary ranges within which the Mayor may set the salary to <br /> be paid to appointed employees. <br /> 18 <br /> D. Range numbers prefaced by "H" are to be considered as hourly rates <br /> 19 payable pursuant to applicable collective bargaining agreements. <br /> E. Range numbers prefaced by "P" are established by City Council in <br /> 20 accordance with the City Charter. <br /> 21 Section 4: <br /> 22 A. Seasonal day laborers employed by the City in the Recreation <br /> Department will be rated by their qualifications, experience, and <br /> 23 background, and type and nature of duties to be performed and <br /> compensated at a minimum of no less than Two Dollars and Thirty <br /> 24 Cents per hour, and a maximum of no more than Four Dollars per <br /> hour. These employees employed in the Recreation Department are <br /> 25 exempt from minimum wage, equal pay and overtime pay if they are <br /> employed less than seven months in any calendar year pursuant to <br /> 26 Section 13 (a), (b) of the Fair Labor Standards Act as amended April <br /> 8, 1974. <br /> 27 B. Day Laborers employed by the City in all other City Departments will <br /> be rated by their qualifications, experience and background, and <br /> 28 compensated at a minimum of no less than Two Dollars and Thirty <br /> Cents per hour and a maximum of no more than Four Dollars per hour <br /> 29 except when Article VIII, Section 6 of the AFSCME Local 113 <br /> Agreement applies. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
