ORDINANCE NO. 19 - 'd <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating the use of <br /> privately owned burglar and/or robbery alarm <br /> systems; defining false alarms and offenses in <br /> connection therewith; prescribing fees and <br /> penalties. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Filing of Emergency Response Card; Contents - <br /> It is unlawful to have or maintain on any premises a burglary <br /> and/or robbery alarm unless there is on file with the <br /> Everett Police Department Communication Center, an emergency <br /> response card containing the names of persons authorized to <br /> enter such premises and turn off any alarm and current tele- <br /> phone numbers at which such persons can be reached at all <br /> times . It is unlawful for any such authorized person to <br /> fail to appear and turn off any such alarm as soon as pos- <br /> sible, but not later than one hour after being notified by <br /> the police to do so. <br /> Section 2 : It is unlawful for anyone to activate any <br /> robbery or burglary alarm for the purpose of summoning police <br /> except in the event of actual or attempted burglary or rob- <br /> bery, or for anyone notifying the police of an activated <br /> alarm and having knowledge that such activation was appa- <br /> rently caused by an electrical or other malfunction of the <br /> alarm system to fail at the same time to notify the police <br /> of such apparent malfunction. <br /> Section 3: <br /> A. For the purposes of this section, the term "false <br /> alarm" shall mean the activation of a burglary <br /> and/or robbery alarm by other than forced entry <br /> or attempted forced entry to the premises at a <br /> time when no burglary or robbery is being com- <br /> mitted or attempted on the premises. <br />
