PUBL/C L/OR/C5
March II, 2012
EVERGREEN WAY HOLDING LLC
PO BOX. 3165
HARRISBURG PA 17105
Subject: Additional BackFlow Prevention Requirements for City of Everett site address:
4920 EVERGREEN WAY
Dear Property Owner:
The protection o`the City of Everett water system from potential private customer hazards is a
Washington State Department of Heaith (DOH) requirement and you are being notified by the City of
Everett, the water purveyor for the building address listed in the subject line above, that construction
upgredes are required for your property when there are moJifications required to the sprinkler system,
based cn future construction or change of use. It is important to us and to our customer.s that the public
water system delivers high quality potable water in all cases.
City of Everett records indicate that this building is served hy a 8-inch since check-valve. A double check
detector is required by the Statz of Washington for commercial fire services. To comply with state
requirements, the city requires the upgrade of the single check-valve to double check detector
assembiy vhen the commercial building sprinkler system is modified through the city permit process.
Please be advised that ihe city requires this upgrede as a part of building or sprinkler permit application
for the portion of the building served by the current single check vaive.
As the owner of this assembly, you are required to maintain il and improve it as necessary. Fo!lowing is
the list of contar.ts that you can use to clarify how this requirement to upgrade to a DCDA will impact
yourproperty:
. If you have questions regarding building or sprinkler permit requirements and the City of
Everett Design and Construction Standards for the location of the DCDA (vault or
interior), please contact Meg Haley by e-mail at mhalevCci.everett.wa.us or by phone
at425-257-8813.
.
