• • Section 11 General Requirements of Culpability ••(1) Minimum Requirement of Culpability .A person is not guilty o1 an offense, other than an offense which •:involves absolute liability, unless with respect to each material a,aiement described by the section defining the offense, he acts {�li�le having one of the mental states described in subsection (2) . (2) 7Lind.s of Culpability Defined :•(a) •In.tent J. person intends or acts intentionally or with intent to •.:cccomplish a result or to engage in conduct described by •Ahe section defining the offense, -when his conscious :)objective or purpose is to accomplish such a result or to • -•4: ngage in conduct of that nature . • :--(b) Knnwlecive A person. knows or acts knowingly or with knowledge with -;respect to: • e.(i) a result described by a section defining z'ri offense , - •-1 hcn he is aware that it is substa.ncial}y certain :haat his conduct will cause such result; or • • •.(ii) :conduct described by a section defining: offe.nse . viien.he is aware that his conduct is of that nature; or. a circumstance described escribad aY a section defining an• •—.offerisc , when, he is aware that such circumstance • . exists; or ,(iv) -a particular fact, when he is aware that there is a -_izigh probability that such facts exists. -:-(c) -Recklessness • A person is reckless or acts recklessly when be knows of nd consciously disregards a substantial and unjustifiable Fisk that: :(i) the result described by a section defining an offense •may occur; or. •-•(ii) a circumstance described by a section defining an Offense exists , and when the disregard of such risk constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of • •conduct that a reasonable person would exercise in the situation.
