"Exception No. 6: For Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 <br /> circuits as permitted by Sections 725-10, 725-33, and <br /> 725-40. <br /> "Exception No. 7: For fire protective signaling <br /> circuits as permitted by Sections 760-16 and 760-30." <br /> Section 18: That Section 339-3(b) of the National Electrical Code, <br /> as herein adopted be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Grounded Conductor Not Insulated. Type SE service-entrance <br /> cables without individual insulation on the grounded circuit <br /> conductor shall not be used as a branch circuit or as a <br /> feeder within a building. <br /> "Service-entrance cable shall be permitted for interior use, not <br /> over 70 Amps, where the fully insulated conductors are used for <br /> circuit wiring and the uninsulated conductor is used for equipment <br /> grounding purposes." <br /> Section 19: That Section WAC 296-46-150 of the Department of <br /> Labor and Industries Rules and Regulations for installing electric wires <br /> and equipment and Administrative Rules as herein adopted be and is <br /> hereby amended by adding a new Subsection (4) : <br /> "Regardless of any other provisions in this Chapter, <br /> all buildings except for residential occupancy, shall be <br /> wired in only approved metallic raceways." <br /> Section 20: That Section WAC 296-46-180 of the Department of <br /> Labor and Industries Rules and Regulations for installing electric <br /> wires and equipment and Administrative Rules as herein adopted be <br /> and is hereby amended as follows: <br /> "a. Service Equipment Location. Except as otherwise <br /> permitted by the building official, all service <br /> equipment, including switches, gutters and subfeed <br /> switches, shall be located not more than seven (7) <br /> feet, nor less than three (3) feet from the floor <br /> or permanent working platforms. <br /> "b. Meter Location. Except as otherwise permitted by the <br /> serving utility, meter height shall not be more than <br /> seven (7) feet or less than five (5) feet above finished <br /> grade or floor below the meter. The center of the meter <br /> shall be the point of reference. " <br /> Section 21: That Section WAC 296-46-200 of the Department of <br /> Labor and Industries Rules and Regulations for installing electrical <br /> wires and equipment and Administrative Rules as herein adopted be <br /> and is hereby amended as follows: <br /> "SERVICE ENTRANCE CONDUCTORS. (1) Service entrance <br /> conductors shall extend at least 18 inches from the <br /> service head to permit connection to the service crop. <br /> " (2) Service entrance conductors shall extend no more <br /> than fifteen (15) feet inside a building. <br /> " (3) All service entrance conductors shall be in <br /> approved metallic raceway." <br /> -8- <br />
