ORDINANCE NO. '/%4'7-7 <br /> AN ORDINANCE creating a special construction fund <br /> entitled Central Business District (CBD) Signalization <br /> and Street Lighting Phase III; authorizing the con- <br /> struction of ornamental street lighting systems on <br /> Pacific Avenue between Norton Avenue and Broadway, <br /> Oakes Avenue between Pacific and Wall, Wall Street <br /> between Oakes and Wetmore, Wetmore Avenue between Cali- <br /> fornia and Pacific, and Rucker Avenue between <br /> Pacific Avenue and Hewitt Avenue; authorizing the <br /> reconstruction of traffic signal systems at the <br /> intersection of Pacific/Rucker, Pacific/Hoyt, <br /> Pacific/Colby, Pacific/Wetmore, Pacific/Rockefeller, <br /> Rucker/Wall, and Wetmore/Wall; authorizing the <br /> widening of Wall Street between Oakes and Rockefeller; <br /> and authorizing the appropriation of $600,000Hhe <br /> construction of these noted street, street light and <br /> traffic signal improvements. <br /> WHEREAS, the Cityof Everett did in April 1971 enter into an <br /> agreement with the Snohomish County Commissioners to provide for the <br /> construction of safety lighting around the County Building Complex, <br /> widening of Wall Street between Oakes Avenue and Wetmore Avenue, <br /> and the construction of the traffic signal at the Pacific/Oakes <br /> intersection; and <br /> WHEREAS, the reconstruction of the traffic signal at Pacific/ <br /> Oakes intersection has otherwise been authorized; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council did in December 1971 and July <br /> 1974, endorse the program for upgrading the street lighting and traffic <br /> signals in the Central Business District otherwise known as the CBD <br /> Signalization and Lighting Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council did on October 27, 1976, instruct <br /> that the street, street lighting and traffic signal improvements related <br /> to the perimeter of the Snohomish County Building Complex <br /> begin in 1977 and completed as soon as possible; and <br /> WHEREAS, the existing street lighting systems on Wetmore Avenue <br /> between Wall and California and on Rucker Avenue between Pacific and <br /> Hewitt will as a result of these improvements be isolated in <br /> type of circuitry and lighting; and Snohomish County P.U.D. #1 has re- <br /> quested that we consider improving those isolated sections along with <br /> the adjacent streets; <br />
