Skip Downing
PO Box 268
Green Bank, WA 98253-0268
Subject: Project: Freddies Club
Job Address: 7903 Evergreen Way
Plan Check No.: B 61164
Dear Mr. Downing:
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and you are
advised that the issuance of a permit is being withheld for the reasons listed below. These comments
address building issues rnly, additional revisions or addi[ions may be required by other departments
(such as Utilities, Plan, ing or Fire). All references refer to the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as
amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1997 Edition, unless stated
otherwise.
In order for the processin,g of xour application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Buildmg Division wth two complete new sets of drawings reflecting the
corrections requested.
1. The building was originally an A-2.1 Occupancy and was required to be within a one-hour
protected building per Table 5-B. This TI creates two A-3 Occupancies, which are not
required to be within a one-hour fire-resistive building. As the existing rype of construction is
II-1 Hr, and a wooden drive through is proposed, it is suggested that the building be
reclassified as Type V-N (or 1-HR) construction. Allowable area justification per Section 504
(including mixed occupancy calculations) should be submitted for this reclassification — and the
Fire Marshal's office contacted regarding upgraded fire flow requirements. Odierwise, the
wooden drive through should be constructed of non-combustible materials as required for a
Type II-1 hr building. Section 603.1
2. The architect and engineer of record should sign the drawings. Section 1063.4.1
The occupancies on the coversheet should be changed to show B(employee area); A-3 (cas?no
and bar); anci A-3 (dining room). Tables 3-A and 10-A
4. The exit doors leading from che casino and dining room to the exterior should be shown with
panic hardware unless no locks or latches are used. Note that a key-locking device may be
used in lieu of panic hardware on the main exit if a sign is posted adjacent to the door stating
"THIS DOOR MUST REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS." Section
1007.2.5
Nlaximum occupan[ load signs should be posted for the casino (284 occupants) and the dining
room (65 occupants) and shown on the plans. Section 1007.2.6
6. Illuminated exit signs should be shown [o cleazly mark the path of egress to all exterior exit
doors. The signs should be provided wiLh a 1-h hour back-up system.
