City of Everett <br /> Civil Rights and Nondiscrimination Compliance <br /> NOTIFICATION OF FINDINGS OF DISCRIMINATION OR NON-COMPLIANCE <br /> In the event a state or federal court, or a state or federal administrative agency, makes a finding of discrimination after a <br /> due process hearing on the grounds of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, disability, sexual <br /> orientation, and gender identity in programs or activities, both in employment and in the delivery of services, against the <br /> applicant or a program partner receiving grant funds,the applicant will forward a copy of the finding to the U.S. <br /> Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office of Civil Rights, and the Washington State Department of <br /> Commerce. The applicant shall include a statement clearly stating whether or not the finding is related to any grant <br /> activity supported with a grant in which U.S. Department of Justice funds are involved, and shall identify all open grants <br /> utilizing U.S. Department of Justice funding by grant number and program title. <br /> ACCESS TO SERVICES AND BENEFITS <br /> Applicants are encouraged to allocate grant funds to support activities that help to ensure individuals with disabilities, <br /> Deaf individuals, and persons with limited English proficiency have meaningful and full access to their programs. An LEP <br /> person is one whose first language is not English and who has a limited ability to read, write, speak, or understand <br /> English. <br /> AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT <br /> The Americans with Disabilities of 1990 prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability and it applies to both services <br /> and employment. <br /> PARTNERSHIPS WITH FAITH-BASED AND OTHER NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATIONS <br /> The Department of Justice regulation entitled Partnerships with Faith-Based and Other Neighborhood Organizations, 28 <br /> C.F.R. pt. 38 prohibits Department-funded social service programs from discriminating on the basis of religion in the <br /> delivery of services or benefits, and ensures that faith-based or religious organizations are able to participate in such <br /> programs on an equal basis with other organizations. <br /> The applicant shall further comply with federal and state laws prohibiting grant recipients from retaliating against <br /> individuals taking action or participating in action to secure rights protected by federal or state laws. <br /> As the duly authorized representative of the applicant, I hereby acknowledge the applicant has received notice <br /> that if awarded funding the recipient, and any subrecipients, will comply with the above requirements. <br /> Applicants unable to comply with the statutes will be prohibited from receiving these funds. <br /> Sig gency's Authorized Official <br /> Cassie Franklin, Mayor <br /> AT <br /> AP'ROVED 0 FO' D /1. <br /> !
