A sprinkfer system will be <br /> required if welding or hot-work is proposed at that location prior to any actual hot-work. This <br /> requirement is based on the following reasons: <br /> • Repair gara�es aze classified as S-3 Occupancies (1997 UBC) unless the tenants engage in open <br /> flame or welding operations. Under other occupancies listed by the UBC, a welding or hot-work <br /> permit could be granted per Article 49 of the UFC - however repair garages (S-3) must be <br /> reclassified as H-4 Occupancies per UBC Sections 311.1 & 307.1 <br /> . The requirement for sprinklering H Occupancies (all divisions) is found in the above referenced <br /> Everett City Ordinance adopted in 1992.
