This occupancy as presently constructed cannot be approved for permanent
occupancy Eor the following reasons:
A. The Uniform Buildin Code, 1982 edition, as adopted by the State of
Washington, and enforced by the City of Everett, prohibits a Group
A-2.1 occupancy being located in a construction type V-N building.
The graui classification of use is 6etermined by the assigned
Occupant Load which in turn is determined by the total square
footage dedicated to such use.
One solution to this problem would be construction oE a fire rated
two-hour area separation wall. Such a wall would divide the
existing total area into two separate areas, each of which would be
belov the 6,000 square foot maximum allo:ed by the Code.
Alternative methods may be used upo approval of the Fire ChieE and
the Building OfEicial.
B. There are no existing fire-rated one hour occupancy separation walls
where this occupancy is exposed to the business occupancies at both
ends of the building.
C. The storage areas have not been prooerly separated. Here again, a
one-hour rating is required.
