To: Kirk Brooks; Dennis Roberson
Subject: PORT OF EVERETT WATER LINE E. ENS!ON, PIER 3
Gentlemen,
• All of this is a private system. We are currently checking for backflow protection through Bill Bruce.
• IF the Port ever envisions turning this system over to the City, it will not be accepted without the proper system
separation. For potable systems DOH strongly recommends 10' from outside edge to outside edge and requires a
minimum of 6'. COE construction standards also require 10'.
• We are surprised that the power is not encased but rather in buried conduit.
• It appears that the proposed water line is as close 3s 0' to tnp of bank. Are shoreline permits required?
• Since this is a private system, Utilities has no recommendations as to design or construction except for the previous
concerns about separation.
• As designed, the City would not accept this system and will require backflow prevention if it is not already in place.
I tI
1
