1 5-04.3(7)A2 Nonstatistical Evaluation <br /> 2 (January 16, 2014 APWA GSP) <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Mix designs for HMA accepted by Nonstatistical evaluation shall; 111 <br /> 5 • Be submitted to the Project Engineer on WSDOT Form 350-042 <br /> 6 • Have the aggregate structure and asphalt binder content determined in accordance <br /> 7 with WSDOT Standard Operating Procedure 732 and meet the requirements of <br /> 8 Sections 9-03.8(2) and 9-03.8(6). <br /> 9 • Have anti-strip requirements, if any, for the proposed mix design determined in <br /> 10 accordance with WSDOT Test Method T 718 or based on historic anti-strip and <br /> 11 aggregate source compatibility from WSDOT lab testing. Anti-strip evaluation of HMA <br /> 12 mix designs utilized that include RAP will be completed without the inclusion of the <br /> 13 RAP. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 At or prior to the preconstruction meeting, the contractor shall provide one of the following mix <br /> 16 design verification certifications for Contracting Agency review; I <br /> 17 <br /> 18 • The proposed mix design indicated on a WSDOT mix design/anti-strip report that is <br /> 19 within one year of the approval date <br /> 20 • The proposed HMA mix design submittal (Form 350-042) with the seal and certification <br /> 21 (stamp & signature) of a valid licensed Washington State Professional Engineer. <br /> 22 • The proposed mix design by a qualified City or County laboratory mix design report <br /> 23 that is within one year of the approval date. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 The mix design will be performed by a lab accredited by a national authority such as <br /> 26 Laboratory Accreditation Bureau, L-A-B for Construction Materials Testing, The Construction111 <br /> 27 Materials Engineering Council (CMEC's) ISO 17025 orAASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP) <br /> 28 and shall supply evidence of participation in the AASHTO Material Reference Laboratory <br /> 29 (AMRL) program. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 At the discretion of the Engineer, agencies may accept mix designs verified beyond the one <br /> 32 year verification period with a certification from the Contractor that the materials and sources <br /> 33 are the same as those shown on the original mix design. <br /> 34 <br /> 35Z-04. The Contractor may request a <br /> 47 change in the JMF. Any adjustments to the JMF will require the approval of the Project <br /> 48 Engineer and must be made in accordance with Section 9-03.8(7).
